A close-up shot of a mushroom resting on a soft bed of mosses (Polytrichum), emphasizing its natural textures and delicate details. My original plan was to capture mushrooms with my macro lens, but since this hike was mostly over mineral ground, I decided to leave the lens at home. Naturally, on the way back, the trail led through a forest full of mushrooms, yet I had no macro lens, no tripod, and none of the gear I would have needed.
